There is a new service that sports fans are gonna love… and it will settle a lot of bar bets at the same time!

ChaCha is a free service that you can either text from your cell (242242, or ChaCha) or call (1-800-2ChaCha) and ask anything (your carrier’s standard test message rates apply). And I mean anything! In just a couple of minutes, you get a response back on your cell phone with the correct answer and a link to a website for further information.

Have you ever been at one game, and wanted to know the score of another game? I’m sure you know the drill… all circuits are busy, or if you have a smart phone, trying to get online to get scores can take forever. ChaCha solves the problem. Text and ask for a score update, and you’ll get the answer in just a minute or two.

I have been using this service for a couple of weeks, and I’m surprised by how addicting it is. One night my hubby and I went out to eat and we just kept thinking up questions to ask ChaCha, and kept getting great answers, sometimes with a little flair thrown in.

And the questions don’t have to be about sports, they can be about anything at all. My little girl got sick of mommy and daddy asking sports questions, so she asked one of her own: What will I get for my birthday? ChaCha’s answer was great: “The Magic 8 Ball says it’s a secret, but you will love it. Happy Birthday from ChaCha!” What a great answer for a four year old (oops, five year old as of today!).

And therein lies the beauty of ChaCha. Questions aren’t answered by a computer, they are answered by real live humans who work from home. There are over 10,000 ChaCha “guides” who work as independent contractors for the company. They find your answers (fast!) and have the elbow room to throw in a little personality.

So the next time you have a sports question… or any question, just ChaCha!
